TRAVEL & ACCOMMODATIONS

If you're flying in, there are three major airports:
 

Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR)

• Recommended: This is the closest airport —  about 25–35 minutes from The Madison Hotel by car.

• Transportation Options:

  • Taxi / Uber / Lyft

  • NJ Transit Train: Take the AirTrain to Newark Airport Station, then a NJ Transit train to Morristown Station or Convent Station (see more details in the train section).

  • Rental Cars are also available onsite.
     

LaGuardia Airport (LGA)

• Located in Queens, ~1 hour from the hotel (more during peak times).

• Best option: Taxi, rideshare, or rental car. Public transit is possible but requires multiple transfers.

John F. Kennedy Airport (JFK)

• Located in Brooklyn, ~1.5 hours from Morristown.

• Best option: Taxi, rideshare, or private car service. You can also take the AirTrain + subway + NJ Transit combo, but it’s a bit of a journey (~2.5 hours).
   

Pro Tip: If you're deciding between airports, we recommend EWR (Newark) for the shortest, and simplest trip.

Driving to The Madison Hotel, St. Rose of Lima Church and/or the Reception at The Beacon Hill Club is a great option, especially for guests coming from nearby cities. All are within ~20 minutes of each other.

Parking: Complimentary self-parking is available at The Madison Hotel as well as St. Rose of Lima. Valet will be available at The Beacon Hill Club. 
 

Highways Nearby: Easy access from Route 24, I-287, and I-78.

Taking the train is a scenic and stress-free way to reach Morristown — especially from New York City, Newark, and major cities along the East Coast.
 

From New York City

• Take the NJ Transit – Morris & Essex Line from New York Penn Station to either:

  • Convent Station (directly next to The Madison Hotel- 1 minute walk)

  • or Morristown Station (about a 5-minute Uber/Lyft or hotel shuttle ride away)

• Trip duration: ~1 hour
   

From Newark Airport

• Take the AirTrain to Newark Liberty Airport Train Station

• Board a NJ Transit train to Newark Broad Street, then transfer to the Morris & Essex Line

• Get off at Convent Station (next to the hotel)

• Trip duration: ~1 hour
   

From Philadelphia, Boston, or Washington, D.C.

• Take Amtrak to New York Penn Station or Newark Penn Station

  • From New York Penn, follow directions above for NJ Transit to Convent Station.

  • From Newark Penn, transfer to Newark Broad Street Station (a short light rail ride or taxi), then board the Morris & Essex Line to Convent Station.

• Travel time will vary:

  • Philly: ~2.5–3.5 hours total

  • D.C.: ~4.5–5.5 hours total

  • Boston: ~5–6.5 hours total
     

Pro Tip: If you're coming from out of state and don’t want to drive, Amtrak + NJ Transit is a convenient combo. Be sure to check transfer times to allow a smooth connection.
